Some people often confuse bands and bracelets to bangles but they are entirely different types of accessories. For glass bangles production in India Firozabad is famous. The history of bangles goes long back to BC era. There has been bangles made of sea shell, bronze, gold and silver etc had been excavated from many archeological digging sites. A statue of a young girl in a dancing position has been excavated from the ruins of Mohenja Daro wearing bangles in her right arm. Other evidences of early bangle wearing cultures have been excavated from Indian dig sites like Mauryan Empire, and Muhajri. Also gold bangles have been found out in historic site of 6th century BCE in Texla.
