In other cultures the use of bangles in the world is also seen since ancient times as a symbol of wealth, beauty and customs. In Caribbean’s when a new child was born his or her parents would buy an expected gift of bangle made of precious material preferably gold and it was born by the child until it outgrows. In West Indian culture women adorn their arms by wearing gold bangles and the more a woman has she is considered wealthiest. Bangles now-a-days worn only as ornament has a deep history and impact on West African people. Their bangles were in shape of Horse Shoe known as Manillas. Their importance to the slave trade to America was of such prevalence that it was known as Slave Trade Money at that time.
