Ethiopian Fashion Girl Bangle Wedding Bracelets.
By Samina Aamir
They were made of copper and red gold for West Africans. Seeing their importance the Portuguese merchants started producing these pieces as means of currency. Although the slave trade system ended with the passage of time but still these bangles known as Manillas are still worn by women in Africa as a symbol of wealth. Some might think that this wearing is a form of fashion accessory as preserving and honoring their culture and history and others think of it as their way to remember their history when one African sold other for just metal ornaments. In china bangles are worn to give longetivity and prosperity to wearer. Whereas bangles made from Jade stones are supposed to not only deliver luck to giver but also guarding the wearer from every evil spirit and bringing him health and prosperity.
